Our Story

Reform Baseball Performance was started in 2023 out of the desire to help baseball players build strong arms and reach their maximum throwing velocity potential. We believe in a holistic training approach where we teach players how to efficiently transfer energy up the kinetic chain to allow for increased throwing velocity while minimizing arm stress. We work to first understand each of our player's unique build and how they naturally move. From here, we work to build on each player's strengths and address their weaknesses keeping in mind their unique movement preferences and anatomy.

Our Team

Matt Starkman PT, DPT, CSCS, Cert. DN

Matt Starkman is the founder of Reform Baseball Performance. Matt was raised in Oakdale, PA where he grew up playing baseball at West Allegheny High School. At an early age, Matt struggled with arm issues and was unable to find the personalized care that he needed to help him treat his arm pain. Years later after Matt received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duquesne University, he was determined to provide players with a better option. Matt has spent countless hours studying baseball mechanics, biomechanics, human anatomy, and physiology. He has taken courses from and regularly studies the work of some of today's brightest baseball minds including Tread Athletics, 108 Performance, Driveline, Dean Jackson, ArmCare.com, and Tom House. He works hard to understand players from both a mechnical and physiolgical perspective which gives him a unique viewpoint in which to help players improve their throwing velocity as well as find solutions to their arm pain.
